OUR LOVES -INTERVIEW WITH WRITER/DIRECTOR AVI NESHER
/How do you tell a story about the day a country changed forever? Making its World Premiere at TIFF, Our Loves takes us into the lives of five individuals in the days leading up to and on October 7— people consumed by everyday struggles before being thrown into absolute catastrophe.
“Our Loves” is written and directed by veteran Israeli filmmaker Avi Nesher (“Past Life”), whose 21st film tackles collective trauma, personal resilience, and the enduring force of human connection.
Five ordinary men and women, each trapped in a failing relationship and convinced they are living the worst day of their lives, are suddenly thrust into a national catastrophe that shatters their private despair. In that rupture, each must confront unresolved wounds, seek redemption and a new beginning.
