Tom Cruise discusses Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Tom Cruise is back in action mode in, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back!

Reprising his role, ( from the best selling series written by Lee Child), Cruise plays Investigator Jack Reacher who springs into action after the arrest of Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders), an Army major accused of treason. Suspecting foul play, Jack embarks on a mission to prove that the head of his old unit is innocent. After crossing paths with the law, Reacher must now go on the lam to uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy that involves the death of U.S. soldiers.

He's been promoting his newest film non stop and the always energetic Cruise was seen on Sunday night, where he greeted fans on the red carpet in New Orleans where most of the film was shot.

The 54-year-old action star was spotted mingling with the crowd, signing autographs and taking pictures.

After arriving with a police escort at about 6 p.m., the Oscar-nominated actor for more than two hours shook hands, posed for pictures and signed autographs for the 1,000-plus assembled fans. At one point, he even signed someone's baby bump, according to local deejay and red-carpet host Wild Wayne of WQUE-93.3 FM.

Pressing the flesh along with Cruise were "Never Go Back" co-stars Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh and Patrick Heusinger; as well as the film's director, Edward Zwick, and novelist Lee Child, the creator of the "Jack Reacher" character.

Afterwards, Cruise and Zwick introduced the locally set film, which screened for fans in four auditoriums at the Elmwood theater a full five days ahead of its national release.

I caught up with Tom Cruise for a quick interview on the red carpet and I even got a hug for my efforts!
