SKYE P. MARSHALL DISCUSSES HER NEW FILM, TO LIVE AND DIE AND LIVE AND HER HIT SERIES, MATLOCK
/Skye P. Marshall is on a roll. She is kicking butt as lawyer Olympia Lawrence in the hit series Matlock opposite Kathy Bates and is showing her grittier side in the new drama, To Live and Die and Live.
Qasim Basir’s critically acclaimed Sundance Film Festival hit TO LIVE AND DIE AND LIVE starring Amin Joseph, Skye P. Marshall, Omari Hardwick, Cory Hardrict, Maryam Basir, Dana Gourrier, and Travina Springer will open May 30th in select theatres.
Basir’s feature was lauded by top critics at its Sundance Film Festival debut in 2023 and is an ode to the city of Detroit. The movie showcases the underrated and alluring architecture and vibrant life in the city. A perfect backdrop for Hollywood filmmaker Muhammad when he (Joseph) returns home to bury his stepfather and settle his accounts. But as he is thrust into old and new relationships his struggles with addiction and loss may finish him before he finishes the task.
In To Live and Die and Live, Skye P Marshall plays Asia, a gritty portrayal of a woman who is in search of love a far cry from her tough cookie lawyer on Matlock.
The actress has credits that include Indivisible, Good Sam, and Sundance darling To Live and Die and Live, but she’s seriously phenomenal as the powerhouse attorney in CBS’s Matlock. Paired with Kathy Bates in the titular role, Marshall has been such a treat to watch this season.
I had the chance to chat with the lovely and talented Ms Marshall about her new film and the success of Matlock.
