Samson - Taylor James and Lindsay Wagner Interview

Samson is one of those bible stories that everyone remembers.  He was the legendary Israelite warrior and judge, or divinely inspired leader, renowned for the prodigious strength that he derived from his uncut hair. He is portrayed in the biblical Book of Judges (chapters 13–16).

Now, his story is being brought to the big screen starring British actor Taylor James in the lead role. You might recognize James from his other projects such as Blitz, Mamma MiaChristmas Eve , Justice League and much more. Taylor put in an extraordinary amount of work to prepare for the role both mentally and physically which pushed him to the next level.

Directed by Bruce Macdonald and Gabriel Sabloff, Samson follows the young Hebrew warrior blessed with supernatural strength — just as long as he abstains from wine and keeps his hair long.

Samson, betrayed by the beautiful temptress Delilah (Caitlin Leahy), is captured and blinded by his enemies before calling upon God for one final victory.

The film stars Rutger Hauer and Bionic Woman Lindsay Wagner as Samson's parents Manoah and Zealphonis, Billy Zane as King Balek and Twilight's Jackson Rathbone as the plotting Rallah.

Samson hits the big screen on February 16th.

I spoke with Taylor James and Lindsay Wagner via satellite from New York about working on this film and why Samson's story is so relevant today.
