REMEMBER - WE GET THE SCOOP FROM STARS DINGDONG DANTES, MARIAN RIVERA & DIRECTOR MAE CRUZ ALVIAR
/Two of the Philippines’ biggest stars, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, reunite in “Remember,” a family drama set to open simultaneously in cinemas worldwide beginning November 11!
“Remember” follows a couple who have grown apart but must come together again for their daughter, played by Zia Grace, who is diagnosed with a rare genetic illness. As they spend time together, old memories resurface, giving them a chance to confront their past and reconsider the love they once shared.
The film explores family, love, and the importance of holding on to loved ones through life’s hardest moments.
Dingdong, Marian, and award-winning director Mae Cruz-Alviar who are reuniting following the phenomenal success of Rewind, one of the highest-grossing Filipino films of all time, shared that several stories had been pitched to them for their next project together, but “Remember” was the one they all felt was right for them to come together again.
Shot in Quebec, Canada, the production showcases the province’s picturesque locations, while Quebec’s motto, “Je me souviens,” meaning “I remember,” offers a fitting connection to the film’s title and its central theme of memory.
Through the years, Star Cinema has told stories that reflect the lives and experiences of Filipinos wherever they may be in the world. “Hello, Love, Again,” which entered the Top 10 of the North American box office, demonstrated the reach of Filipino films among audiences abroad. With its themes of family, love, and second chances, “Remember” offers another story that can connect with Filipinos overseas while appealing to international audiences who relate to these universal experiences.
“Remember” opens in cinemas nationwide on November 11 (Wednesday), followed by international screenings in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia, and New Zealand on November 12, and in the US, Canada, and Guam on November 13.
The film brings together five of the Philippines’ formidable film productions—ABS-CBN Studios, Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, AgostoDos Pictures, and Regal Entertainment—in a moving cinematic story about love, family, and hope.
I spoke with stars ( and real-life married couple) Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Driector Mae Cruz Alviar about working on the film and shooting in Quebec.
