RACEWALKERS - TALKING WITH ROBBIE AMELL, PHIL MONIZ and KEVIN CLAYDON

Racewalking gets the full treatment in the new heartwarming comedy, Racewalkers.

In Racewalkers, struggling track coach Will Lester (Phil Moniz) finally gets his chance when he meets burnout former pro pitcher Matt Mackenzie (Kevin Claydon), whose perfect stride might just upend the insular and quirky world of racewalking. Together, they face off against the country’s top walker Ched Lester (Amell) and form an unexpected friendship, destined to prove that even long shots can find their stride.

Robbie Amell (Producer & Star) appears as Ched Lester, bringing his signature blend of comedic timing and heartfelt performance. Greg Bryk plays Kurt Lester, joined by Jess Salgueiro as Allison, Italia Ricci as Ava, Rebekah Francoz as Molly, Ryan Blakely as Paul, Milton Barnes as Andre, and Trevor Hayes as Tom.

“The heart and humor in Racewalkers grabbed me right away,” says Robbie Amell. “This story champions unlikely heroes taking on impossible odds—and we’re excited to share that spirit with festival goers.”

Racewalkers is produced by Jeff Chan, Robbie Amell, Alex Paquin, Chris Paré, Evan Landry, and Amanda Pileggi. Executive producers include Alona Metzer, Kevin Claydon, Phil Moniz, Wade Odlum, Brian Huynh, and Adam Randle.

Racewalkers had it’s debut at the 2025 Slamdance Film Festival and will hit theatres in Canada on July 10th.
