POSSESSION - CATCHING UP WITH SERIES STAR SHELDON SHEPHERD

To say that the striking new tropical noir series Possession has captured the cultural zeitgeist is an understatement. Blending atmospheric tension, deep-rooted Caribbean mythology, and a razor-sharp look at identity and generational trauma, the project stands out as a watershed moment for authentic storytelling. At the heart of this gripping narrative is the powerhouse talent of star Sheldon Sheppard, whose magnetic presence brings an entirely visceral layer to the screen.

Possession is a genre-bending, 5-part supernatural psychological thriller series created by Karla Crome and directed by Storm Saulter.

The story follows Claudia,(Gugu Mbatha-Raw) an ambitious bi-racial lawyer at a prestigious Bristol firm who is sent to Jamaica to challenge an unexpected inheritance claim. A wealthy white British aristocrat has left his family's former Jamaican plantation property—Hope Hill—to a local resident named Cudjoe East,( Sheldon Shepherd) much to the outrage of the aristocrat's son, Oliver.

However, Claudia's mission takes a dark turn when she realizes that Hope Hill is the very same ominous estate that has been haunting her nightmares. As Claudia and Oliver investigate, they uncover a chilling, supernatural web connecting historical horrors of the transatlantic slave trade to present-day injustices.
