CHATTING WITH THE CAST AND CREATORS OF "THE AFTER PARTY"

Buckle up for the wildest and most entertaining after party of the year!

“The Afterparty,” the all-new murder-mystery comedy series everyone will be trying to solve, launches this week only on Apple TV+.

From Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe Award winners Chris Miller and Phil Lord (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Lego Movie,” “21 Jump Street”), “The Afterparty” is a genre-defying series centred on a murder mystery at a high school reunion. Each episode explores a different character’s account of the fateful evening in question, all through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective.

The series features a stellar ensemble cast including Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou and Dave Franco.

Here are some facts about "The Afterparty" by the numbers.

  • 12 Comedic Heavy Hitters: “'The Afterparty' is stuffed with actors who tend to be the funniest parts of whatever project they’re in, but who meld together here as the ensemble of a comedy geek’s dreams.” — The Hollywood Reporter

  • 10 Years in the Making: The Afterparty may be coming out in 2022 but writer/director Chris Miller was developing the idea back in 2012. It was originally written to be a movie.

  • 10 Different Genres: The show creators used various filmmaking techniques to shoot each episode in a different genre, shifting perspectives and playing with the unreliable narrator trope.

  • 4 Original Xavier Songs: Dave Franco may play a fictional pop star, Xavier, in the show, but he actually recorded 4 full-length songs including “Imma Live Forever” which are coming soon to Apple Music.

  • 2 Unexpected Cameos: They’re worth watching for.

  • Countless Clues to Find: From Morse code to Rebus puzzles, renowned Puzzle Masters David Kwong and Dave Shukan were tapped to weave intricate clues throughout each episode.

The first three episodes of “The Afterparty” premiere Friday, January 28, 2022, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.
