The Imitation Game is starting to garner plenty of attention especially with the numerous awards shows just around the corner. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch in an award worthy performance as Alan Turing, a genius British logician and cryptologist who helps crack Germany's Enigma Code during World War II but is later prosecuted by his government for illegal homosexual acts. 

Timothy Spall is on a roll! The veteran British actor won the best actor prize  at Cannes for his role as artist J.M.W Turner in his latest film, Mr Turner and was just named the best actor by the New York film critics. There is no doubt that we will be hearing his name called once again when Oscar nominations are announced in January 2015.  

The Hundred Foot Journey starring Helen Mirren is available on Blu Ray on December 2nd. The film centers on Hassan Haji is a young Indian boy living with his family in a small village in the French Alps. His family opens a restaurant just 100 yards from a three-star Michelin rated restaurant owned by the eccentric Madame Mallory. 

Veteran actor Jeffrey Wright is best known for his very serious and dramatic roles, but he is also very proud of the work he has done in the Hunger Game films. Wright is back in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 as Beetee Latier the technical wizard who invents all of Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) weapons and says he loved every minute of being back on set with the cast and working with the new actors who are introduced in this chapter. 

Mahershala Ali may not be a house old name but he's definitely working on it. The seasoned actor nabbed a prime role opposite Jennifer Lawrence in, The Hunger Games Mockingjay parts 1 and 2 and you can currently see him opposite Kevin Spacey in the Netflix mega hit series, House of Cards as Remy Danton.  

Christopher J. Hanke who who last appeared on the New York stage in the Broadway revival of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,  has come to Toronto to perform in the hit Off-Broadway solo comedy Buyer & Cellar . The Toronto production runs until November 30th at the Panasonic Theater.

The Theory of Everything is truly one of the most extraordinary films I have seen this year. There is no doubt that we will be hearing a lot about this movie and it's stars come awards season.  The amazing young actor Eddie Redmayne took on the daunting task of playing Stephen Hawking and his performance is nothing less than Oscar worthy.

Prepare for more superheroes to hit the big screen! Disney's latest animated movie, Big Hero 6  is based on the Marvel Comics team of superheroes, and follows the bond between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax (voiced by Scott Adsit ) and robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada (voiced by Ryan Potter).

Fans of director Stanley Kubrick are in for a huge treat. The Stanley Kubrick exhibition comes to the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto beginning October 31st and will run until January 25th.  I had the opportunity to see this phenomenal exhibit when it was housed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)  two years ago and I was absolutely blown away.  It is truly one of the most interesting and comprehensive exhibits I have ever seen.
