Adam Scott is one of those laid back, humble actors who doesn't take anything for granted. He’s one of those guys that when you say his name you may not be entirely familiar, but as soon as you see his face you definitely know you’ve seen him in something. I became a huge fan of Adam Scott’s after being introduced to his hilarious cable TV series, Party Down about an offbeat catering company. That series also starred Jane Lynch and LIzzy Caplan and it was where Scott began to really hone his comedic chops. However, having been in the business for over twenty years people didn't really start noticing his talents until he hit the big time as one of the stars of the popular television series, Parks and Recreation opposite Amy Poehler.

James Ford Murphy may not be a household name, but he is someone you will be hearing a lot about. Inside Out is Pixar’s next highly anticipated release, but it’s also paired with a brand new Pixar short film that’s a must see, James Ford Murphy's directorial debut called, Lava.  The eye catching short feature focuses on a lonely volcano out in the middle of the sea who’s just looking for someone to love, or rather, lava.  And it’s no wonder Pixar Chief John Lasseter went with the idea when Murphy pitched him. The seven-minute piece, is extremely moving and the song is quite catchy, too.

We all know Phyllis Smith from her role as Phyllis Vance in the hit television series The Office. After starring on that show for nine successful seasons, the 63-year old actress honestly didn't know what her next move would be after the show ended. However, one fateful day she got a phone call from PIXAR animation studios saying they wanted to talk to her about a potential role in their next film and the rest as they say, is history.

When writer/director Rick Famuyiwa started to shop his comedy Dope, about a high school senior’s crazy mission to escape the confines of his Inglewood, California urban neighborhood for the Ivy league walls of Harvard the major studios, didn’t get it. So Famuyiwa and producers Forest Whitaker and Nina Yang Bongiovi, who were behind 2013 indie hit Fruitvale Station, made Dope their way, outside the studio system.

Be afraid, be very afraid. Insidious Chapter 3, is a supernatural horror film written and directed by Leigh Whannell in his directorial debut. It is a prequel to the first two films and the third installment in the Insidious film series. The film stars Dermot Mulroney and Stefanie Scott, with Angus Sampson, Whannell, and Lin Shaye reprising their roles from the previous films.

Tomorrowland is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, but people are still a little confused as to what it's actually about.  The new Disney live-action feature directed by Brad Bird and co-writer Damon Lindelof, Tomorrowland has long been shrouded in mystery. The film, which hits theaters on May 22, shares its name with the Disney Parks section featuring beloved attractions like Space Mountain and the Carousel of Progress.

The Mad Max master has returned and he is back with a vengence. Director George Miller, who thirty years ago first introduced movie going audiences to road warrior Mad Max (Mel Gibson) has brought us back to the post apocalyptic world with, Mad Max:Fury Road. Co-written, produced and directed by Miller directed, this is  the fourth film of Miller's Mad Max franchise.  Fury Road stars Tom Hardy as "Mad" Max Rockatansky, making it also the first Mad Max film not to feature Mel Gibson in the title role. The film also stars Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult.

Preggoland is one of those movies for anyone who has had a baby, is trying to have a baby or has no intentions of having a baby.  It is a completely relatable fun, hilarious, and extremely well written comedy-drama about our societal obsession with pregnancy and babies. 

Montreal director Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky) and Vancouver writer/actor Sonja Bennett bring us Preggoland, a laugh-out-loud comedy about a 35-year old woman whose high school friends have moved onto motherhood, while she’s still partying in the parking lot.  But when Ruth is mistakenly thought to be “with child,” her life changes – old pals embrace her, strangers give up their seats and her father (James Caan) approves of her for the first time.  How can she keep up the ruse? 

SONGS SHE WROTE ABOUT PEOPLE SHE KNOWS tells the story of Carol, an emotionally repressed woman, who loses friends and alienates people when she begins singing songs she wrote about people she knows.  When she unexpectedly inspires her boss, to whom she dedicates the song ASSHOLE DAVE, to attempt to reignite his dream of becoming a rock star, Carol is forced to confront her fear of intimacy and her issues with her mother.  As Dave flounders in his quest for rock and roll glory, Carol continues to hone her creative voice, pouring all of her money into her debut LP, SONGS SHE WROTE ABOUT PEOPLE SHE KNOWS.

Far from the Madding Crowd is a sweeping romantic drama directed by Thomas Vinterberg that stars Carey Mulligan, Matthias  Schoenaerts, Michael Sheen, Tom Sturridge, and Juno Temple. It is an adaptation of the 1874 novel of the same name by Thomas Hardy.  Set in Victorian England, Mulligan plays Bathsheba Everdene, an independent and headstrong farm owner who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias  Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This film marks the fourth time this novel became a film: the second version was directed by John Schlesinger in 1967 with Julie Christie.

You may not be that familiar with the name Ari Millen but over the next few months life is going to change drastically for this young man. Ari Millen is a 33-year old Canadian film, television and stage actor who is best known for playing Mark Rollins in the science fiction series Orphan Black. Last year it was decided that instead of killing off his character on the wildly popular television series, they would make him the new clone giving the brilliant Tatiana Maslany a run for her money.

Just in time for Earth Day, Disney Nature Films gives us their latest and eighth offering, Monkey Kingdom. It's a lavish nature documentary that follows a newborn monkey and its mother as they struggle to survive within the competitive social hierarchy of the Temple Troop, a dynamic group of monkeys who live in ancient ruins found deep in the storied jungles of South Asia.

Elizabeth McGovern is an American film, television, and theater actress, and musician. who has been working for many years.  She received an Oscar nomination for her role as Evelyn Nesbit in the 1981 film Ragtime. Some of her other films include  Ordinary People (1980), Once Upon a Time in AMerica (1984), The Handmaid's Tale (1990) and The Wings of a Dove  (1997), but it is her role as Lady Grantham (a.k.a. Cora Crawley) for the last five seasons on the hit television series Downton Abbey that has made her an international superstar. She has been nominated for an Emmy Award and Golden Globe for her role.  Her time on Downton will be coming to an end as sadly the show's creator and writer Julian Fellows announced that the upcoming 6th season will be the last.
